Navy Park Launch Celebration

We’ve very excited that Navy Park is now open with the final finishing touches being made.  

Dream South D, in collaboration with the DCC, contributed to the upgrade as well as providing the new barbecue and shelter, wheelchair-accessible drinking fountain, volleyball nets, table and seating, and a sensory woodland walk - created using materials repurposed from the original fort built by the Navy.

To celebrate, we will hold a launch event on Saturday, 17th January 2026, from 11am - 2pm for the local community with a free BBQ and activities. We've invited Better Together Aotearoa to provide free face painting and balloon animals, Plunket to offer a comfortable space for feeding and changing babies, and Volleyball Otago to support kids wanting to try out the newly installed volleyball net.

This will be our first event for 2026 and we’re looking forward to celebrating with you all Navy Park!
