Navy Park

An exciting opportunity has emerged for DCC and DSD to work in collaboration to upgrade and deliver additional features to Navy Park! 

Together, we’re not only refreshing the park but reimagining it as a vibrant community space that truly reflects local pride and aspirations. Work is already underway with the new play equipment being installed and the soft fall area updated.

Below shows the exciting progress of the park and the new additions - including a BBQ area, accessible water fountain, volleyball nets, and a scenic woodland walk - creating a welcoming place for everyone to connect, relax, and enjoy.

We’re excited to announce that the park will reopen to the public as of Friday, 5 December. SGC Services and Dream South D will continue completing work onsite throughout December.

We’re looking forward to celebrating the completed upgrades and beautiful new park amenities with the local community on Saturday, 17 January 2026, from 11am to 2pm.

We’ve invited Volleyball Otago to help us celebrate the new volleyball nets, and Plunket will be onsite with their feeding and changing space for babies. Dream South D will provide a free BBQ and free face painting by the talented Better Together Aotearoa duo.
