Bathgate Park Update

Dream South D is enhancing Bathgate Park Playground with additional facilities, including a shelter, an all-access barbecue, picnic table, and drinking fountain.

We’ve been working with SGC Services to install the additional amenities. The images show the timeline of work from mid-April 2026 until now. The water fountain will be added at a later date.

We're excited to share that the shelter, fully accessible BBQ, and picnic table have now been installed at Bathgate Park!

While the BBQ won't be switched on until the warmer weather arrives, we can't wait to celebrate when it's ready. We'll be marking the occasion with a community sausage sizzle and a special event to bring everyone together.

Bathgate Park Play Parks Celebration - Save The Date

Dream South D has installed a new accessible barbecue and drinking fountain, a new shelter, and a picnic table at Bathgate Park, creating even more opportunities for our local community to enjoy these spaces.

To celebrate, we’re holding a Play Parks Celebration for the local community on Saturday, 3 October 2026 from 11 am – 1 pm at Bathgate Park on Hillside Road.

Come along and enjoy a free BBQ and lots of fun activities, including:

  • Free face painting with our wonderful volunteers

  • Plunket will be there with a comfortable space for feeding and changing babies

  • Sport Otago will bring their reconnecting gear for free, good-quality second-hand sports gear.

There will be plenty to keep children of all ages entertained, so bring the whānau along and join us in celebrating these wonderful new additions to our local play spaces!
