One-word check in
Building a relationship with Ōtākou - We discussed a set of talking points for Bob, who is hoping to set up a meeting at the marae.
Action: Sarah to draft the talking points for Bob by early next week and send to the steering group for feedback.
Te tiriti follow up session - We talked about last week’s session with Suzanne, and how we will put our learning into practice.
Recruitment - We are excited to be in the closing stages of recruiting our first employee. We discussed progress on an employment contract, a schedule to the MOU with the SDCN, and a letter of offer. At the next meeting we will talk about furniture and who will work directly with the employee. We discussed the accommodation situation and agreed on a possible temporary solution that would see us through the next few months only.
Action: Sarah to meet with the Network Manager to discuss the employment contract, MOU schedule and accommodation.
Engagement - We discussed the distribution of postcards across South D in the past week and also engagement events coming up: the community hui and the street festival. Sarah will attend the beginning of the hui on March 8. Kathryn will coordinate our presence at the Street Festival on April 1. Our focus at the festival is on distributing postcards and talking to people (potentially writing up postcards for them).
Actions:
Sarah to attend the beginning of the SDCN community hui on 8 March.
Sarah to email SDCN about having our banner and postcards at the community hui.
Kathryn to coordinate the street festival event on 1 April.
Sarah to email Brendan to ask if the DSD stall can be next to the ReadShareGrow stall at the Street Festival.
Sarah to distribute postcards to Te Wananga, Kokiri, Te Kaika, Pacific Trust, Kohanga Reo and Whakaruruhau over the next few weeks.
